Relativity, Sony ink distribution deal

Duo to target markets outside of the U.S.

RelativityReal, the reality TV production arm of Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media, has inked an international distribution pact with Sony Pictures TV.

Deal calls for the companies to co-distrib programming from RelativityReal in markets outside the U.S. The banner was formed last year when vet reality producer Tom Forman joined forces with Kavanaugh (Daily Variety, June 25).

Forman said the company has 20 series and pilots in various stages of development at multiple nets. The company recently inked an overall deal with prolific producers Jay Blumenfield and Tony Marsh (Daily Variety, Jan. 15).

RelativityReal pact with Sony Pictures TV was unveiled Friday, a few days before the international TV biz gathers in Cannes for this week’s Mip TV sales confab.
