Regent Entertainment and Here Media have bought North American distribution rights to Argentian director Lucia Puenzo’s drama “El Nino Pez” (“The Fish Child”) and Israeli filmmaker Eran Merav’s “Zion and his Brother.” MK2 is repping rights to the film at the Cannes market.
“El Nino” is Puenzo’s second film, and is based on her book of the same name. It made its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year and later played in the Tribeca Film Fest.
“Zion” marks Merav’s directorial debut and was an official selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
Deals were negotiated by Mark Reinhart for Regent and Here, and Matthieu Giblin for MK2.
