Approved 20% plan applies to film, TV prod'ns
The French rebate plan for foreign filmmakers has been approved and is up and running. Capped at $5 million, the 20% rebate applies to live-action or animated movies, miniseries, TV movies and skeins. Gallic producer-helmer Luc Besson has also recently announced his $42 million studio complex La Cite du Cinema in Seine-Saint-Denis, set to open in early 2012.
Top facility: The SFP studio complex located six miles from Paris in Brie sur Marne spreads over 31 acres and boasts eight soundstages ranging from 3,100 square feet to 11,500 square feet. It also feaures 6,000 square feet of exterior sets and various production services, including post-production, set construction, lighting and set storage.
