Disney will release DreamWorks and Touchstone’s Hugh Jackman starrer “Real Steel” on Nov. 18, 2011.
“Real Steel” is the first picture dated since the DreamWorks/Disney distribution and marketing deal was sealed.
Film was one of 17 projects DreamWorks took when it split from Paramount, which has opted out of its right to co-finance.
DreamWorks is sole financier of the film, whose production budget has been pegged at $80 million.
Shawn Levy is directing the futuristic robot tale, based on a short story by Richard Matheson. Lensing begins in June.
Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford are producing, along with Levy. Exec producers are Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Steve Starkey, Josh McLaglen and Mary McLaglen.
