Christine Vachon takes on ‘Lullaby’

Duo reunite to produce romantic drama

NEW YORK — Christine Vachon of Killer Films is reteaming with her fellow “Far From Heaven” producer Jean-Charles Levy to produce “Lullaby for Pi.”

The romantic drama, from tyro director Benoit Philippon, stars Rupert Friend and Clemence Poesy. Shooting begins today in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Kevin DeWalt of Minds Eye Entertainment is also producing.

Friend plays a jazz singer so traumatized by the death of his wife that he loses the ability to sing. Enter Pi, a mysterious woman played by Poesy.

Levy’s Forecast Pictures, Minds Eye and Studio 37 are co-financing. Minds Eye has Canadian rights; Studio 37 has French theatrical and homevid rights. International sales will be handled by Kinology.
