UPDATE: Isaiah Washington

Way back in July of 2007, Your Mama discussed the Hancock Park adjacent condominium that too big for his britches ack-tor Isaiah Washington listed and sold in the aftermath of his very public and had to be humiliating heave-ho from hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy.

At the time, it was posited by a real estate gossip or two that Mister Washington and family might pack their bags and head back to Houston, TX where records show they own a 4,653 square foot house on Vintage Centre Drive.

However, as it turns out, they stayed in Tinseltown and moved into a newly built and pricey rental property facing the Sherman Canal in Venice, CA. That should have been the end of that, particularly since it looked like Mister Washington was managing to right his professional boat with a recurring role on the short lived and universally panned Bionic Woman boob-toob remake as well as lead roles in two upcoming films.

But alas. It seems the drama sticks to Mister Washington like gum to the bottom of a shoe. According to Perez Hilton (via Radar), Mister Washington and family have been evicted from their Sherman Canal rental for failing to pay five months in back rent totaling $100,000. That’s right children, e-vicktuhd.

If we’re being honest, and we always are, we don’t feel so bad for Mister Washington. He sorta cooked his own goose in Hollywood by getting all mouthy and big headed before his star had risen high enough for him to get all mouthy and big headed. However, the man does have a wife and kids and it’s unfortunate they too have to bear the brunt of this real estate brouhaha.

For those 12 children who still nurse a soft spot for Mister Washington, y’all can rest easier knowing he hasn’t lost everything because it appears that he’s still got that big house in Houston and his big black Mercedes G-Class car-truck thing.

  2. Marcus Welby MD says:

That entire Grey’s Anatomy show is full of whiners, on and off screen.

  3. Dr. Eve Bollinger says:

or that fabulous Winters, Texas, as featured in “Sordid Lives”?

  4. Chanda Lear says:

How can you so neglect the cultural and cosmopolitan hub that is Lubbock?

  5. angeleyes says:

White Chocolate, I’ve been to Austin and loved it there. Never been to San Antonio, but am aware that both cities have considerable charm to offer. As for the rest of Texas excluding Houston, and with all due respect, forget about it. I totally agree about Mama :)

  6. ooooooh, angeleyes! Have you been to Austin or San Antonio lately? C’mon down and I’ll take you shopping, dining and sight seeing. But get here before the mercury rises in May – Good Lord you sweat like a whore in church down here in the summer! I miss LA very much BUT what we get for our money housing wise is beyond belief. And thank god we have the internet because with out Mama we’d be sunk!

  7. angeleyes says:

lofts for rent, I totally agree. I’m sorry for him too, mostly for his family’s sake, but he so asked for his present situation, and more than once.

Viva, I used to live in Houston, and you’re correct. Hurricane potential and traffic outside the 610 loop aside, it’s a great place to live – cosmopolitan, liberal, lots to do, shopping options couldn’t be better, and not at all like the rest of Texas.

  8. Viva! says:

Well I happen to like Houston. Lynn Wyatt’s there…it can’t be all bad!

I couldn’t be happier that sh*t has hit the fan for Washington, he’s a first class prick.

6:41– obviously written by a flyover

did they let michigan and texas in? How gauche!

  11. Anonymous says:

oops, are there now 50 states? I didn’t read about that in Variety.

  12. Anonymous says:

I am taking a poll. How many other LA residents enjoy bashing other states whenever they get insecure and frustrated? I know it’s a favorite sport of mine whenever I’m not at Fred Segal stargazing, having my ML320 detailed, or getting my botox injections. I love to hate on those ignorant low life freaks who simply have n’t a clue that there is life anywhere outside of LA! Come join me in a giant bash of all other 48 states! I don’t know about you but i’m going to be buried in Forest Lawn. Why I wouldn’t even let my cold dead body leave LA!

that same place was renting for $2000 a month in 1998 how can it jump up 1000 percent from 1998 ?

  16. Lone Star Lucy says:

oh and I don’t mean any disrepect to y’all. you know how stupid we all are, i’m sure you’ve ssen “Sordid Lives”

  17. Lone Star Lucy says:

thanks but we’d rather not have him back in texas. he belongs in Gross Angeles with all the trash, the octomoms, the ex-hooker producer’s wives and the fake stars who can’t pay the rent.

  18. Anonymous says:

two tears in a bucket, mother fuckit. Good. He can stay in Houston, then. They deserve each other.

  19. Sorry to hear that Mr. Washington took such a hit. What goes around comes around my friend.

  20. Margo says:

Aside from not liking him on a personal level, I have a very hard time feeling sorry for people that can’t pay 20 grand per month in rent but decide to sign up for it anyway. While L.A. is expensive, 20000/month is major movie star expensive and not barely employed actor expensive. He should have swallowed his pride and gotten a considerably less pricey place in Sherman Oaks instead of the Sherman Canal.
