New York-based regional sports network YES has reached an agreement with Verizon to gain national distribution in high-def over the wireless carrier’s Fios subscription TV service.
Subscribers to Fios’ Extreme HD package will have access to all the New York-based sports coverage Yes provides, save for perhaps the network’s most in-demand offerings: New York Yankee and New Jersey Nets games. However, other Yankees- and Nets-related programs, such as the analysis-based “Yankees Batting Practice Today” and “Nets Magazine,” will be included. Multiyear agreement is already in place. Fios is in 9.2 million homes in 14 states.Verizon, YES strike hi-def deal
