Sen. Edward Kennedy was remembered in a funeral Mass in Boston before family members, fellow lawmakers, media figures and President Obama and three former presidents. Among those delivering remarks were Obama and Kennedy's two sons, Edward Jr. and Patrick, while the youngest members of the family offered special intentions.

The service was as bittersweet as it was somber, and marked by an extraordinary musical selection that featured Yo-Yo Ma, Placido Domingo and Susan Graham, who ang "Ave Maria." Among those from entertainment and the arts also present were Tony Bennett, Jack Nicholson, Lauren Bacall and David McCullough.
