“Hillary, the Movie”: Winning Its Case?

Hillary%20the%20movie Here's my story, running in tomorrow's Variety, on the Supreme Court's re-hearing today on the case of "Hillary, the Movie," the scathing documentary about Hillary Clinton that ran afoul of campaign finance laws.

There seemed to be some resignation on the part of the Solicitor General that the Court will rule in favor of the makers of the documentary.

As you'll see, the case has created some strange bedfellows, largely because of its free-speech implications. My favorite: The ACLU, which has come to the defense of Citizens United, the conservative org that produced the documentary, even though that group is still selling another documentary called "ACLU: At War with America."
