Rodriguez set to retire by year's end

Univision is putting its next generation of leadership in place.

Ray Rodriguez, longtime Univision Communications prexy and chief operating officer, will retire at year’s end while Cesar Conde, exec veep and chief strategy officer, will be upped in October to prexy of Univision Networks, which includes cabler Galavision and broadcast net Telefutura.

As part of the shuffle, Univision Communications CEO Joe Uva will add the additional title of prexy in October.

Rodriguez has been with Univision since 1990, overseeing programming for its TV, radio and online outlets. Uva credited him with establishing Univision’s dominant position in the Spanish-lingo market through his programming skills and his “commitment to the Hispanic community.”

Conde, who is based in Miami, joined Univision as veep of network corporate development in 2003.
