Studio teams with film unit on adaptation

BERLIN — Studio Hamburg is teaming with Zurich-based C-Films on an adaptation of Pascal Mercier’s bestselling novel “Night Train to Lisbon.”

Pic follows an aging professor of dead languages who, on a whim, travels to Lisbon in search of a mysterious author.

The film is the first co-production from a new strategic partnership between C-Films and Studio Hamburg parent Studio Hamburg Prods. to jointly develop, produce and distribute theatrical films.

Established in 1999 in Zurich, C-Films operates production subsidiaries in Hamburg and Paris and produces films, TV movies, documentaries and series.
