SYDNEY — Commercial web Seven Network will enter the online catch-up TV market in Australia when its site streaming full episodes of shows bows in January.
Site, featured on its joint-venture platform Yahoo!7, will include “Home and Away,” “FlashForward,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost” and new cooking skein “My Kitchen Rules.”
Since the launch of pubcaster ABC’s iView service a year ago, catch-up TV has become a popular tool for Aussie viewers.
Nine launched its service in October, and Network Ten has some limited skeins online.
In a move that Seven hopes will boost cross-platform advertising revenues, the videos will be the first Down Under to include mid-roll ads inserted into the video rather than upfront.
