Phoenix critics love ‘Basterds’

Tarantino pic named best of the year by circle

Phoenix critics named Quentin Tarantino’s WWII epic “Inglourious Basterds” the best of the year for 2009. They named Tarantino top helmer and his cast best ensemble.

Phoenix crix also named “Moon” as the overlooked pic of the year and honored “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” for family feature.

Gabourey Sidibe (“Precious”) earned breakout perf of the year kudos, and Neill Blomkamp won for his breakthrough work behind the camera on “District 9.” Saoirse Ronan (“The Lovely Bones”) and Jae Head (“The Blind Side”) were honored for best perf by a youth.
