The Palm Springs Film Festival has tapped Helen Mirren to receive its Career Achievement Award for acting.
The award will be presented at a gala on Jan. 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and will be hosted by “Entertainment Tonight’s” Mary Hart. The fest runs Jan. 5-18.
Mirren will join other honorees at the awards gala including Morgan Freeman, Mariah Carey and Anna Kendrick.
She stars in the upcoming “The Last Station” with Christopher Plummer, Paul Giamatti and James McAvoy, and is slated to appear in next year’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.”
