TOKYO — Telco giant NTT and media conglom Kadokawa Group Holdings will launch a new multiplatform content provider this December, the partners announced on Friday.
The new, as-yet-unnamed company will transmit content such as pics, music, online shopping services and digital magazines combining text and video to users on a range of platforms including PCs, cell phones and television monitors. The partners say the company will also offer “new types of cloud services” without specifying details.
The launch of pay services is skedded for April through June.
Within three years of the start of services, the partners plan to recruit 100 companies as content suppliers. Both NTT and Kadokawa are already negotiating with potential partners and plan to announce a list when the service launches next spring.
