MGM bows first U.K. web

MGM HD is a joint venture with satcaster BSkyB

MGM’s first branded channel bowed in the U.K. on Monday on News Corp. paybox BSkyB.

MGM HD, a 50/50 joint venture with BSkyB, showcases pics from MGM’s library, all broadcast in high definition.

To view MGM HD, Sky customers must subscribe to Dual Movies and the HD pack. Alternatively, the channel is available a la carte for £5 ($8) per month.

The deal extends MGM’s existing pact to provide pics for the Sky Movies channels.

More than 20 MGM branded networks broadcasting in nearly two dozen languages channels are now available in over 130 countries.
