Production is scheduled to start in late 2010

Henning Mankell, author of the bestselling “Wallander” novels, is penning a four-part TV series on the life of Ingmar Bergman. Production is scheduled to start in late 2010; series will air on Swedish Television in late 2011 or early 2012. No helmer or cast has yet been announced. Mankell, married to Bergman’s daughter Eva, said, “What fascinates me is the price Bergman had to pay for his uncompromising creativity — it darkened many aspects of the rest of his life.”
