Focus' Schamus to give keynote address

The London Film Festival unveiled its industry lineup Tuesday, with the program highlight a keynote address from Focus Features topper James Schamus on Oct. 27.

Other events include a daylong session entitled “Virtually a Reality: How to Digitize Your Festival,” looking at the potential digital opportunities for film fests across the U.K.

Film London once again rolls out its Production Finance Market, which brings together producers and filmmakers with sales agents, financiers and distributors. The two-day confab takes place Oct. 20-21.

Other activities include four days of industry screenings, among them a “Meet the Buyer” session on Oct. 20 and the weeklong mentoring program “Think-Shoot-Distribute,” which brings together up-and-coming filmmakers with industry professionals.

The fest’s multimedia “Power to the Pixel” forum returns for the third year, while Irish Film Board topper Simon Perry will deliver a keynote address to students and recently graduated filmmakers.

“We are committed to the long-term development of our industry activities and services,” said London film fest artistic director Sandra Hebron.

The fest’s 53rd edition unspools Oct. 14-29.
