Yoon Jeong-hee to star in Korean director's film

SEOUL Korean helmer Lee Chang-dong (“Secret Sunshine”) has tapped Yoon Jeong-hee as the lead in his new film, tentatively titled “Poetry.”

Yoon was one of the most popular stars in the country during the 1960s and ’70s, starring in more than 300 films. After marrying Korean pianist Paik Kunwoo, she moved to Paris, and rarely took on acting roles. “Poetry,” a drama about a lonely woman in her 60s, is her first film since “Manmubang” (1994).

Project nabbed the $20,000 Kodak award at the Pusan film festival’s Pusan Promotion Plan last year. Fine Cut reps the film for worldwide sales. Lensing started Aug. 25 with a May 2010 release targeted.
