‘Kevin’ catches U.K.’s Eye

Distrib buys Swinton starrer litpic at script stage

Blighty’s leading arthouse distrib Artificial Eye has prebought helmer Lynne Ramsay’s “We Need to Talk About Kevin.”

Pic, acquired at script stage, has been adapted by Ramsay from Lionel Shriver’s  novel. Tilda Swinton will star as the mother of a murderous teen.

Jennifer Fox (“Michael Clayton,” “The Informant!”) and Independent’s Luc Roeg produce.

Steven Soderbergh will exec produce with BBC Films’ creative director Christine Langan and Paula Jalfon. Pic will lense next year.

Other recent Artificial Eye acquisitions include “Father of My Children,” “Life During Wartime,” “Lourdes,” “Vincere,” “Women Without Men,” “White Material,” “Police, Adjective,” “Le Refuge” and  “IVUL,” all to be released next year.
