Company re-brands channels
LONDON — Disney is re-branding its Jetix channels in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria as the Disney Channel.
The Mouse House said the change, to be introduced this year, will increase the channel’s distribution to 12 million households in central and eastern Europe.
Each Disney Channel will be localized, with programming dubbed in local languages.
“Central and eastern Europe is a key market for the Walt Disney Co. and launching Disney Channel is central to the company’s strategic growth plan in the region,” said Giorgio Stock, executive VP and general manager of Disney Channels EMEA.
