Summer box office hits high for third year in a row

STOCKHOLM — Norway’s summer box office has broken records for the third year running.

Led by “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,” the B.O. take for June 1-Aug. 9 was $36 million, compared with $30.6 million in 2008.

“Ice Age” earned $10.6 million, ahead of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” which was in second place with $6.5 million. Together, these two films accounted for 47% of summer admissions, followed by “The Hangover,” “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Angels and Demons.”
