Harner leaves ‘Town’ for ‘Louie’

Actor to make U.K. stage debut

Jason Butler Harner segues from an extended Off Broadway stint in “Our Town” to his U.K. stage debut in the Donmar Warehouse revival of Lanford Wilson’s “Serenading Louie.”

He stars with Charlotte Emmerson, Jason O’Mara and Geraldine Somerville in Simon Curtis’ production of the 1970 play about disillusioned friends struggling to deal with the realities of adult life as they enter their 30s. Production runs Feb. 11-March 27.

David Cromer’s critically lauded revival of “Our Town,” in which Harner has been playing the Stage Manager, chalked up a milestone last week. The play’s 337th perf at New York’s Barrow Street Theater makes it the longest-running production of the Thornton Wilder classic in history.
