Group partners with Atlantyca on film

The Gotham Group is partnering with Italian publisher Atlantyca Entertainment on the film version of Edizioni Piemme’s book series “Century.”

Recently launched in the U.S. by Random House, “Century” follows the challenges of four teens and their families as they search for four ancient objects of power each connected to fire, earth, air and water.

The book series, written by Italo author Pierdomenico Baccalario, has 11 other publishers internationally. Gotham Group topper Ellen Goldsmith-Vein said she’s betting that the “Century” book series “has the makings for a fantastic four-quadrant film franchise.”

Goldsmith-Vein was a producer on “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” based on the series of fantasy books written by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Among other projects, she’s set to produce a Kirk Ellis adaptation of “Papa Hemingway: A Personal Memoir” and “Simon Bloom, The Gravity Keeper,” to be directed by Gary Ross for Universal.
