PARIS — French broadcaster TF1 and Gallic film producer-distributor UGC have officially inked to partner in international sales and Gallic distribution as well as co-produce movies.
Alliance, unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival in May, was signed Wednesday, TF1 said Monday. TF1 did not go into details about how they will pool sales and distribution teams.
In May the partners said the alliance was a reaction to “the deterioration of international film markets and a fall in TV investment in films.”
The deal must be greenlit by Gallic competition authorities.
