Dragon TV nabs pop culture gameshow

Global entertainment powerhouse Endemol has secured another commission in China — its fourth in two years.

“The Best Years of Our Lives,” which has aired in both Spain and Italy, will be broadcast in a prime slot on Shanghai Media Group’s Dragon TV.

Show has been licensed in partnership with media rights agency IPCN and will be sponsored by U.S. auto giant Ford.

Initial run will be seven hourlong shows.

“The Best Years of Our Lives” sets two teams against one another as they compete before an audience of teenagers to decide which decade, judged on the basis of pop culture, was the best.

The new commission comes in the wake of three other Endemol productions in China — “International King of Sport” for Sichuan TV, “1 vs. 100” on Hunan TV and Sichuan TV’s “I Love My Country.”
