MONTREAL — Canuck distributor E1 Entertainment has created another subsidiary, Les Films Christal, to be run by producer-distributor Christian Larouche.
Larouche’s Christal Films Distribution filed for bankruptcy protection last year. The E1-owned company has no ties to that shingle.
The new company will acquire films for Quebec and the rest of Canada. Larouche will be co-president and E1 Entertainment Canada co-president David Reckziegel will also serve as co-president of Films Christal.
E1 Intl. will take world rights to select Christal titles, including “Les Grandes Chaleurs,” “Leo Huff” and “Noemie.”
The first film to come via Les Films Christal is teen drama “A Vos marques….Party 2,” to be released in Quebec June 16.
