Mike Medavoy and FremantleMedia Enterprises are collaborating on a multiplatform franchise with the working title “Dinosaurs Resurrected.”
The project, which melds the latest discoveries by paleontologists with cutting-edge CGI animation, will include a primetime HD skein, to be delivered in 2011, and a narrative 3D feature, which is being produced by Geffen-Medavoy Pictures, the shingle creating feature docs and fact-based dramas for theatrical release that Medavoy runs with Anthony Geffen.
FME will handle the sale of the skein’s international rights and will oversee the exploitation of the franchise in all media, including books, DVDs, merchandising, vidgames and live events.
Skein and pic will be produced by U.K. documentary shingle Atlantic Prods., whose programs include “Nefertiti Resurrected” for Discovery Channel, “Egypt Unwrapped” for National Geographic and “Predator X” for the History Channel.
Visual effects will be handled by British post-house Zoo, which worked with Atlantic on “Egypt Unwrapped” and “Predator X.”
