Cookie Jar Ent. has sealed a deal to serve as the North American distributor for the popular Mexico-based wrestling org Lucha Libre AAA.
Cookie Jar will both distribute and serve as the licensing agent for Lucha Libre USA and the Lucha Libre AAA league. Deal includes the launch of the first-ever English-language TV version of the Lucha Libre AAA in the U.S., which will launch under Cookie Jar’s new primetime label, “The Jar.”
Lucha Libre AAA products, including action figures, apparel, books and novelty items, will hit stores in 2010. The TV series will center on live Lucha Libre AAA events, which feature luchadores such as “La Parka,” “Mascarita Sagrada,” “El Masias,” “Cibernetico” and “Dr. Wagner.”
