Even after a month of picketing, striking WGA members still have plenty of bark left in them. Thursday is Bring Your Dog Day on the picket lines, organized by scribes Cindy Chupack, Andrea King and Jhoni Marchinko. And yes, they do advise members to bring plastic bags to make sure they clean up after their furry friends.
Chupack has sent this message to members —
This Thursday for Bring Your Dog Day (details below), Andrea King, Jhoni Marchinko and I have arranged for dogs to get red bandannas that say the following on a first come, first serve basis at each picketing location. (There will be about 15 at each location, 30 at larger locations.)
We look forward to hounding the studios!
Bring Your Dog Day (this Thursday)
It’s time to hound the studios! Because we’re doggedly determined to get a fair deal, this Thursday is Bring Your Dog Day for WGA members and our loyal SAG supporters. All dogs must be well-behaved and on leashes. Blank signs will be provided. Please bring plastic bags and clean up after your dog.
Extra water and paper bowls will be available, and Dogswell treats will be provided by The Modern Dog (1611 Abbot Kinney Blvd., www.come-sit-stay.com). If you have a favorite pet store that might want to provide more treats for our canine companions, feel free to spread the word. And be sure to invite your favorite dog-loving celebrities to join us. In the morning, organizers Jhoni Marchinko (Will & Grace) and her french bulldog Amber-Louise will be at Raleigh, and Cindy Chupack (Sex and the City) and her St. Bernard rescue Tink will be at Fox, but dogs (and writers without dogs, even writers who dislike dogs!) are welcome all day at all picketing sites.
