Company, Vertigo Films to share costs, profits
Warner Bros. Pictures U.K. will release Brit helmer Nick Love’s soccer hooligan pic “The Firm” in a joint-venture deal with Love’s shingle Vertigo Films.
Vertigo is one of the U.K.’s most versatile film companies, producing and distributing its own films as well as working with third-party distribs.
The deal with Warner Bros. has the two companies sharing costs and profits on the release.
“As an independent film-maker, teaming up with a major studio like Warner Bros. ensures a really strong position in the marketplace,” said Love.
“The Firm” stars Calum McNab and Paul Anderson.
German distrib Ascot Elite and Middle Eastern distrib Front Row have also both acquired the pic for their respective territories. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales.
