British pay TV channel provider UKTV has sold its first show to the U.S.
ABC will air “Ty’s Great British Adventure,” starring “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” host Ty Pennington, in primetime on Aug. 2.
UKTV, which has recently beefed up its original commissions, hailed the move as “a fantastic coup.”
“Ty’s Great British Adventure” depicts Pennington’s attempts to transform the rundown coastal town of Portreath in England’s West Country.
Show was exec produced by Pennington and Leigh Seaman for TPTV, Twofour Prods.’ Joe Houlihan, UKTV’s director of commissioning Jane Rogerson and commissioning editor Catherine Catton.
UKTV is owned jointly by BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media.
