Festival runs September 24 - October 28
TOKYO — The Japan Contents Festival (CoFesta) announced the skeds and events for its third edition on Tuesday.
Running Sept. 24-Oct. 28, CoFesta will host 18 events, three more than last year, and 10 partner events. These cover all corners of the Japanese content biz, including film, TV, games, comicbooks, toons, music, fashion and character goods.
One of the main events is the Tokyo Film Festival, whose 22nd edition unspools Oct. 17-25. Another is the Tokyo Game Show, skedded for Sept. 24-27. Last year TGS attracted 194,000 visitors, making it the largest event of its kind in the world.
Among the markets are Tiffcom, skedded for Oct. 20-22, which focuses on pics and TV; the Tokyo Asia Music Market, running Oct. 19-23; and the Tokyo Contents Market (Oct. 14-16), which features a wide range of content, from comicbooks to character goods.
CoFesta has also launched the Hundred Committee. Chaired by Yoshinaru Hara, an adviser and former prexy of the Daiwa Securities Group, the committee has 119 corporate members that support and promote the fest.
