Docu company seeks international expansion
LONDON — The Bob Geldof-owned U.K. media combo Ten Alps, which specializes in high-end documentaries, has signed a three-year distribution deal with BBC Worldwide.
Shingles that come under the Ten Alps’ umbrella — Brook Lapping, Blakeway, Below the Radar and Films of Record — will have their shows distributed by a single entity for the first time.
Worldwide will provide development coin and work with Ten Alps to identify and support international opportunities in projects being developed.
In return, BBC Worldwide gets an exclusive first-look deal to distribute commissioned Ten Alps’ programs. Docus delivered by Ten Alps this year include “Iran and the West,” “The Future of Food,” “The Madoff Hustle” and “China’s Capitalist Revolution.”
