TOKYO — Warner Entertainment Japan has created the new post of general manager for its home video and digital distribution biz, the company announced on Tuesday.
Filling the position is Taichi Fukuda, who came to Warner from NBC Universal Intl., where he was managing director. One of Fukuda’s prime responsibilities will be managing Warner’s shift to HD and digital formats.
In a related development, Warner has tied up with the TV Tokyo network to offer a mobile service that enables users to keep watching pics and TV shows on their cell phones that they started watching on broadband without paying any extra.
Skedded to start at the end of November, the service will begin with 100 titles from Warner and one new variety show weekly from TV Tokyo.
