Series sold to RTVE, Mediaset
BERLIN — Italy’s Mediaset and RTVE in Spain have picked up TV Loonland’s hit short-form series “The Owl.”
Additionally, Spain’s Tribanda Pictures has secured home video rights to the show, which includes 52 episodes of one-minute comedy shorts that track the hazardous escapades of a feisty pink owl.
Independent U.K. toy firm Vivid Imaginations has also just inked a deal for a range of plush toys.
“The Owl” is already available on the Verizon mobile network in the U.S. and will appear on U.K. mobile operator 3 later this month, with other U.K. networks to follow.
The toon has now sold in more than 185 territories and is on air on the U.K.’s BBC kids channel CBBC and in France, where programmers at France 3 have decided to create a special block in which the Owl introduces other TV series.
