New Media renews Taj Sports deal

Tokyo co. to continue promoting Sports channel

TOKYO — Tokyo-based the New Media Group has renewed its carriage deal with Taj Sports, which operates the Ten Sports channel.

Under the deal, announced Wednesday, the New Media Group will continue to carry Ten Sports on its World On-Demand IPTV platform while cooperating with Taj Sports to delivery its content via TVs, PCs and mobile terminals to its core target auds in  South Asia and Australia as well as to new audience bases.

For example, the New Media Group plans to work with Ten Sports to place its programming with Yahoo and leading Japanese portals. One, Nico-Nico-Douga, has already agreed to a long-term promotional tie-up to bring Ten Sports’ racing, tennis and cricket programs to niche auds in Japan.
