Executive named station VP, GM

Marty Wilke has been upped to vice president and general manager of Tribune Broadcasting’s flagship WGN-TV Chicago.

Wilke, the sales chief of the Tribune-owned station since 2002, had been serving as an interim g.m. since July. In that capacity, she oversaw the launch of WGN’s 5:30 p.m. weekday newscast.

Wilke succeeds Tom Elhmann, who exited WGN in the summer to take the reins of NBC O&O KXAS in Dallas.
