Canadian drama picked up for 2008-09 season

MONTREAL — BBC Worldwide has snared global distribution rights to Canuck drama “The Session” from Temple Street Prods., which will bow in the Great White North on pubcaster CBC during the 2008-09 season.

The series, starring Erin Karpluk (“The L Word,” “Bionic Woman”) and Michael Riley (“This Is Wonderland”), is about a woman who is given the opportunity to see her life from another perspective thanks to a therapist who helps her go back in time and relive portions of her life.

” ‘The Session’ is a fantastic concept, with truly universal appeal,” said Helen Jackson, BBC Worldwide’s director of independents. “Who doesn’t sometimes look back on their life and think about what they might have done differently?”
