Children's network pacts with Studio100 on show

BERLIN — Studio100 Media, the Munich-based children’s programming producer and distrib formerly known as EM.Entertainment, has inked a distribution deal with the Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC) for pre-school CGI animation and live-action series “Bumba the Clown.”

The exclusive five-year free and pay TV deal will see the series distributed via cable, satellite and terrestrial in the Arabic speaking territories of Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

Targeted at 2-to-3-year-olds, the interactive and educational show follows “Bumba,” a clown who lives in a circus with his human and animal friends.

Belgian media group Studio100 purchased the EM.Entertainment assets last month from Leo Kirch’s sport rights and production company EM.Sport Media.
