Rome’s amfAR gets saucy

Mena Suvari, Matthew Modine attend events

ROME — Movie stars, fashion mavens and Roman notables mingled at the second annual amfAR gala held in the Eternal City’s Galleria Borghese museum on Oct. 24 during the Rome Film Festival.

Following a brisk tour of stunning ancient artworks, guests flocked to a giant outdoor tent where drinks segued into a live auction for which Mena Suvari and Matthew Modine got the bidding started.

Also helping out was Gael Garcia Bernal, who gave a young lady an impromptu salsa lesson for e6,000 ($7,494), and urged well-heeled Italos to open their wallets “now that even George Bush has come out of the closet and gone socialist.”
