Jonas, Tarantino 'swing' to El Capitan premiere

Though in many ways it’s an ensemble film, it was Kevin Costner who was front and center at Thursday’s El Capitan premiere for “Swing Vote” — all the way down to doing his musical perf at the Highlands after-party.

One friend of Costner’s said half the reason he did the movie was so he could perform with the band in the film, which was expanded to a strong half-hour set at the preem bash .

As for the pic, writer-director Joshua Michael Stern described it as “a political ‘Paper Moon,’ ” while exec producer Robin Jonas, who was there with Quentin Tarantino, said it was more like a “Mr. Redneck Goes to Washington.”

“This kind of movie is right up the center for Kevin,” said Cheech Marin. “Lovable loser is his best character.”
