Revelers enjoy Italian film event
The winter sun cooperated, and the stars turned out copiously at the 12th Capri Hollywood Film Festival on the Italian isle, Dec. 27 – Dec. 30.
Lindsay Lohan, on hand to get a career nod, provided prime paparazzi fodder. But Capri aficionado Terry Gilliam actually gave the event some gravitas, promoting “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” which he is currently shooting. Gilliam disembarked with “Imaginarium” stars Andrew Garfield and Lily Cole, who were part of a Capri contingent of hot young talent that also included Hayden Panettiere and Freddie Highmore.
Producer Mark Canton served as this year’s fest chairman, playing spirited co-host in nightly ceremonies alongside Capri topper Pascal Vicedomini and even crooning “Stand by Me” with a local band. Other guests included thesps Dennis Hopper, Joan Chen, Christopher Lee, Amy Ryan, John Malkovich and Maria Grazia Cucinotta, helmers Lina Wertmuller, Liliana Cavani and Claude Lelouch and scribe Steven Zaillian.
