Hall & Oates honored at Pop Awards
HOLLYWOOD — Daryl Hall and John Oates were honored Tuesday at BMI’s 56th annual Pop Awards, held at the BevWilshire.
The pair, who have received more than 50 BMI Awards, drew the night’s highest honor complete with tributes from fellow musicians.
“It’s a lot of fun to be here in honor of Hall and Oates because I am a big fan,” Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds said. “I was definitely inspired by them as writers.”
Music producer Polow Da Don took home the songwriter of the year nod for his work on hit singles for artists such as Gwen Stefani, Fergie and Usher. “I feel like I came into the music business as a custodian, so to have the manager position right now is like wow,” he said.
