Brit celebs deal with heat

HOLLYWOOD — What was that about mad dogs and Englishmen being out in the midday sun?

With the temperatures tipping 90 degrees on June 22, BAFTA/LA’s annual garden party at Greystone Mansion in BevHills certainly was a hot ticket event.

Guests, including BAFTA/LA board member Nigel Lythgoe, “So You Think You Can Dance?” host Cat Deeley, Steve Valentine (“Crossing Jordan”), Lucy Davis (English version of “The Office”), Owain Yeoman (“Troy”) and the British Consul General Bob Peirce and his wife Sharon, sipped cooling drinks in the shade.

The other way to deal with the heat?

“I have refrigerated undies,” quipped BAFTA/LA chairman Peter Morris, who went on to say that the event, which included a silent auction, is a thank you to the org’s membership.
