Talent agent Barry Rick dies at 63

Talent agent Barry Rick, founder of the commercial talent agency BRick Entertainment, died Oct. 16 of complications of renal failure in Bethesda, Md. He was 63.

Born Barry George Richter in Portland, Ore., he graduated Maryland U. and was a restaurant owner before becoming a music agent on the East Coast. After moving to Los Angeles, he began representing actors at Zanuck, Passon and Pace. He left the agency in 2003 to launch Brick Ent., specializing in commercial talent. Brick Ent. will continue under the leadership of Kennth Suarez.

Rick was an active supporter of the Emerson College Los Angeles Center internship program, where a scholarship has been created in his name.

He is survived by a son, his mother and a sister.
