Executive leads channels in 11 territories

LONDON — HBO Central Europe has appointed its Prague-based executive director for the Czech Republic, Ondrej Zach, as vice president for programming and acquisitions across the 11 territories it covers.

Zach, who has been in charge of HBO’s Czech and Slovak operations for the past two years, assumes responsibility for program planning, scheduling and acquisitions for all of HBO’s Central Europe channels, including HBO, HBO2, HBO Comedy, Cinemax, Cinemax 2, HBO Digital SVOD and HD services.

An industry executive with more than 10 years experience in television, home video and theatrical distribution, Zach gained his acquisitions experience at leading Czech commercial broadcaster TV Nova.

HBO entered the Central European television market in 1991 and now provides basic and premium channels to 11 countries in the region, including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
