Witten to head English unit at NFB

Exec replaces Perlmutter on Feb. 25

Broadcast exec Cindy Witten has been tapped to take over as director general of the English-language division at the National Film Board of Canada. She replaces Tom Perlmutter, who left the position last June to run the production studio in the position of government film commissioner and chair of the NFB. Witten will start Feb. 25.

The NFB is a publicly funded film studio based in Montreal that specializes in documentaries and animation fare.

Witten was most recently vice president of content at the Canuck pay channel History Television.
