Vereen, Judd to judge Lifetime show

Ben Vereen, Cris Judd and thesp Vitamin C have been tapped to serve as judges on Lifetime’s dance-competish skein “Your Mama Don’t Dance.”

Series, which begins its eight-week run on Feb. 29, pairs 10 young professional hoofers and one of their non-pro parents in a competition to claim a $100,000 top prize. Ian Ziering hosts (Daily Variety, Jan. 28).

According to Lifetime, the younger contestants were originally led to believe they would be competing by themselves on a dance competition show dubbed “Dance Nation.” Late last month contestants who advanced through the audition process gathered in L.A. and were informed they’d be partnered with a parent.

Vereen is a Tony-winning multihyphenate whose recent credits include guest shots on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Law & Order: SVU.” Judd is a choreographer and actor recently seen on Nickelodeon’s “Unfabulous” and other comedy skeins. Vitamin C is an actress-singer known for pop hit “Graduation (Friends Forever).”

“Mama” hails from City Lights Television and Bob Bain Prods. Bob Bain, Dave Noll and Linda Lea are exec producers.
