Nonfiction show based on New York judge
Nonfiction programming specialist A. Smith & Co. is aiming to get into the syndie court show biz, signing New York judge Marian Shelton to a talent deal with the aim of developing a strip around her.“Tough Justice with Judge Marian Shelton” will focus on real civil, family and relationship disputes. A distribution deal for the series has not yet been established. Appointed by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani in 1998, Shelton served as a Bronx Family Court judge for 10 years, establishing a syndie-friendly rep for being tough and no-holds-barred.
